Sixth anniversary of POF martyrs observed

WAH CANTT - Sixth death anniversary of POF Shuhadas was observed in Wah Cantt with dignity and honour on Thursday. On 21st August 2008, 70 POF Employees embarrassed martyrdom and 196 injured in two suicidal attacks at POF gates. In order to pay tribute to these martyrs, this day is observed in POF every year and a special ceremony is  arranged for them.
This year too, a simple and impressive function was held at Yadgar-e-Shuhada in front of main gate POF Wah to pay homage to these martyrs. Lt Gen. Muhammad Ahsan Mahmood, HI(M) Chairman POF Board was the chief guest on this occasion.
Addressing on this occasion, Chairman POF Board said, “We salute to the pious souls of these POF martyrs who laid down their lives for POF and motherland and reaffirmed the pledge that we would not let their great sacrifices to go in waste and make the defence of the motherland invincible.”
He further remarked that the coward act of the terrorists would not lessen our courage and we would continue to shoulder our responsibilities with courage, dedication and commitment. Earlier, Chairman POF Board laid the floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada and contingent of DSG presented salute at Yadgar-e-Shuhada. Chairman POF Board distributed Rs15000 among each family of POF Shuhada on this occasion.
