KHYBER AGENCY - Dr Amjad Taqweem, who had been abducted from Hayatabad Peshawar a few days back, was recovered from Ali Masjid area of tehsil Jamrud, a sub-division of Khyber Agency, officials said on Saturday.
Assistant Political Agent (APA) Jamrud Jahangir Azam while sharing the details said on a tip off the administration aided by security forces conducted a raid on a house in Ali Masjid area and recovered the abducted doctor safe and sound and handed him over to his family in Hayatabad.
He, however, refused to disclose the identity of the abductors due to security reasons and said they were under investigation.
Lauding the efforts of the administration in tackling the anti-social elements, Jahangir said the local administration was striving hard to decrease the crime rate and no one would be allowed to disturb the peaceful environment of the area. He said the administration had also arrested 12 kidnappers during the operation.
