QUETTA - The provincial capital and some other parts of Balochistan received snowfall and rain on Saturday while Quetta-Chaman Highway was blocked at Khojak Pass due to heavy snowfall.
Quetta, Mastung, Mangochar, Kalat, Machh and other northern parts of Balochistan including Pishin, Toba Kakari, Kan Materzai, Muslim Bagh, Khanozai, Zhob and Toba Achakzai and Ziarat received the first snowfall of this winter.
The snowfall started in the morning and continued till late night.
Quetta-Chaman section of National Highway remained closed at Khojak Pass for traffic for several hours due to heavy snowfall.
Hundreds of vehicles stranded on both sides of the highway causing great difficulties to motorists. According to reports, Nushki, Turbat Gwadar, Pasni, Ormara, Harnai and Dera Murad Jamali also received rain.
Meanwhile, low pressure of gas in Quetta, Mastung and other towns multiplied the miseries of people in intense cold.
