GUJRANWALA - The Punjab government has provided furniture to 11 girls and boys schools with a view to resolve sitting problems.
DDO (Education) Sajida Parveen said that the provincial government had sent 1,591 desks benches, 86 tables for teacher, 167 chairs for teachers, 26 staff room tables, 117 stools, 48 steel cupboards and 90 black boards and stands for 11 schools.
She further said that a special committee had been constituted to check quality of the furniture. It’s worth mentioning here that Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Choudhry had taken serious notice of missing facilities in schools and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif paid surprise visit to a school where female students were forced to sit in graveyard to get education.
