LAKKI MARWAT - Office-bearers of Tehrik Tahaffuz Haqooq-e-Marwat have demanded the government to fill vacant posts of science teachers in the boys and girls high and higher secondary schools of the district.
At a meeting held here in Abakhel on Thursday, Haji Zarwali Khan Marwat and other leaders said that a number of posts of science teachers were vacant in the schools since long impacting the education of students in the state run schools.
They told that the government schools especially those for girl students lacked science teachers at a time when the academic session was on its peak.
"The shortage of teachers and unavailability of science teachers in high and higher secondary schools will affect the academic activities," they maintained.
They revealed that government sanctioned additional posts of science teachers for high and higher secondary schools in July 2012 but appointments against those posts could not be made so far. "The girl's high and higher secondary schools are hard hit by the deficiency of science teachers," they told.
They asked the government to promote teachers to the posts of secondary school teachers (science and general) without any further delay. The TTHM leaders warned that they would launch a protest campaign if government did not accept their genuine demand.
