ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has summoned a high-level meeting tomorrow (Tuesday), August 24 to discuss health matters being faced in the flood-affected areas. The meeting with Prime Minister in the chair will discuss the health facilities in details in the flood-hit areas to overcome the epidemic diseases. Officials of Health Ministry, NDMA officials and health officers hailing from the flood affected areas will participate in the meeting. Health departments have expressed fears of epidemics outbreak in the flood-hit areas as there were already reported cases of gastro, diarrhoea and other water borne diseases in the affected areas and even some people have died of these diseases.
