Hassan vows support for minorities’ rights Two commit suicide

KARACHI - Religious leaders and representatives of the Hindu and Christian communities greeted Jamaat-e-Islami chief Munawar Hassan on Eidul Fitr and presented him bouquets at an ‘Eid Millan’ party, held at the Idara Noor-e-Haq on the first day of Eid.Rev Thomas Gulfam, advocate Younas Khan Sohan and Dr Ramash Kumar called on Munawar Hassan and exchanged Eid greetings. They briefed Hassan about the socio-economic situation of minorities in Pakistan and thanked him for the measures taken by the Al-Khidmat particularly for the Hindu community in interior Sindh. Hassan assured them of his party’s complete support for their basic and fundamental rights. Besides a large number of people belonging to various walks of life, JI Sindh General Secretary Rashid Naseem, JI Sindh vice chief Dr Merajul Huda Siddiqui, JI Karachi chief Muhammad Hussain Mehanti, Secretary general Naseem Siddiqui and other attended the ceremony.
