Pervaiz asks Imran to do serious politics

ISLAMABAD - Minister for Information and Broadcasting and National Heritage, Senator Pervaiz Rashid, stated that protests and sit-ins in the country hamper the progress to the national economy as foreign investors hesitate in investing under such circumstance.
The country could never develop until and unless there is political stability, the minister told media after attending a book launching ceremony of “Bher ki Khal Mein” written by Dr Fauzia Saeed, as the guest of honour here at the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA).
He was of the view that the investors’ confidence develops only in a situation when there are industrial activities in the country and such protests shake investors’ confidence. Pervaiz Rashid asked Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan to tell the nation whether he took any step to stop corruption and profiteering in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the last six months.
When asked whether the Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) would also stage a similar protest against price hike in KPK as a rebuttal, the minister replied that Imran should also protest in his province as the task suits him best.
The minister maintained that the PTI made false claims of change, asking Imran Khan to tell how many tax evaders had been arrested by the PTI’s provincial government.
He asked the PTI chairman to do serious politics and avoid ‘solo flights’ and said that by bringing people on roads the law and order and security situation suffer. He asked how many cases of corruption by previous governments of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had been unearthed by the PTI and how many officers were prosecuted in the province for corruption.
The minister stated that there was information that Imran was going abroad to enjoy winter holidays that was why he held a protest in haste at a time when Christmas, Chehlum and Urs of Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh were around the corner.
He expressed the fear that such protests could be dangerous for the people in prevailing security situation.
Earlier, addressing at the launching ceremony of the book, the minister appreciated the writer’s work for unearthing the bitter truth of life. Pervaiz Rasheed stated that in Punjab a law was passed to protect working women in 2010 asking the KPK government and Balochistan to follow the example of Punjab.
On this occasion, Tehmina Durrani, chief guest of the function, also spoke at length and stated that it is a brave work of the author who tried to unveil the harassment at workplaces and society against women.
Author of the book Dr Fauzia Saeed and IA Rehman, a writer, also spoke on the occasion.
