QWP-JUI-F talks on seat adjustment at final stage

PESHAWAR - To have seat to seat adjustment in six different districts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, talks between Jamiat Ulma-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) and Qaumi Watan Party are at final stage, as both the parties have so far held several rounds of meetings in this regard, sources said on Friday.
To a great extent, JUI-F and QWP have agreed to enter into electoral alliance in six districts of the province including in Peshawar, the provincial capital of the province, while other districts are Mardan, Nowshera, Buner, Swabi and Charsadda.
JUI-F’ central general secretary Abdul Ghafoor Haidari and Opposition leader in KPK Assembly Akram Khan Durrani and QWP Provincial President Sikandar Hayat Khan and others met at Sherpao House the otherday and discussed in details seat adjustment in the province.
In this connection, another meeting between JUI-F and QWP will be held soon as both the parties have decided to take organizational body of the six concerned districts into confidence before giving a final touch to the seat adjustment, sources said.
There are a total of 14 National Assembly seats and 39 seats of the KPK assembly. In 2008 elections, most of these seats were won by the ruling ANP.
If JUI-F and QWP agree on seat adjustment they would certainly give tough time to ANP. Similarly, ANP is also in contacts with different political parties including the JUI-F for having seat adjustment or electoral alliance in the province, however, no progress has so far been achieved.
Similarly, former chief minister Akram Khan Durrani will hold talks with opposition parties for having a consensus on caretaker government in KPK, after its approval from the opposition parties, Mr.Durrani will meet Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti to finalize names for caretaker chief minister and provincial cabinet.
Akram Durrrani has reportedly said that that the government has to contact him yet on the matter, however, he would prefer to consult the opposition parties prior to having talks with the government on caretaker government in KPK.
Meanwhile, PML-N, PPP, PTI and JI in the province are also out to moblise party workers by holding public meetings.
Almost all parties, are at present much busy in finalizing candidates for national and provincial assemblies seats.
