ASI among 3 killed in firing incidents



QUETTA - Three people, including an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) and a woman were killed in separate incidents of violence in Quetta and Qila Saifullah on Sunday.
In the first incident, unidentified men opened indiscriminate fire on a police van in Nawa-e-Killi within the jurisdiction of Zarghoonabad Police Station. As a result, ASI Azizullah sustained serious wounds in the firing and was taken to hospital for medical treatment where he succumbed to his injuries.
Police sources said that a police party was chasing bandits who opened fire on police van that resulted in death of ASI and the accused managed to flee from the scene.
In the second incident, a man killed his spouse and her alleged lover in Qila Saifullah district. Levies Force officials said accused Naseebullah in Kanjoghi area of Qila Saifullah allegedly shot his wife dead and later killed her alleged paramour identified as Ainuddin after suspecting them of having illicit relations.
The accused managed to escape from the scene after committing crime.
Local administration moved the bodies to hospital for medico-legal formalities and later handed them over to heirs. Motive behind the killings was stated to be “honour killing”.
Levies have arrested accused person and started investigation after registering a case.
