GDG approves Rs10 billion annual budget

GUJRANWALA - The Gujranwala District govt (GDG) presented its annual budget of Rs10.8b for the current fiscal year, 2012-13.  EDO-Finance Tariq Mahmood submitted the budget for approval in the meeting convened here for this purpose. DCO Mohammad Amin Ch, as administrator of the district govt, presided over the meeting. As per detail, Rs 600m in the budget, has been allocated for the Education Department, while Rs500m have been specified for development projects, Rs1 billion for health, Rs750m for salaries of public servants and Rs100m has been allocated for the construction of a parking plaza at the existing parking site at GT Road near Chowk Gondlawala.Meanwhile, EDO-Health Dr Azhar Masood Bhatti conducted a raid and took into custody 52 cartons of medicines, substandard syrup and various other medicines here on Saturday. Ali Goods Transports informed the Health Department that consignment did not carry the names and addresses of both the sender and the addressee.
