Peshawar- A senior police officer was wounded as the militants attacked a police van on the outskirts of the metropolis today. According to officials, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Abid Rehman was shot injured at Matni, suburb area of Peshawar. Officials said a group of militants riding motorcycles and car fired at the police van, where DSP Abid Rehman was visiting area to see security measurements in wake of expected reaction of terrorists amid ongoing military operation Zarb-e-Azab in North Waziristan. Militants fled the scene after firing however reports said that some attackers were also injured in retaliate fire by the police. The attackers were fled to nearby lawless tribal area. Wounded DSP was shifted to Leady Reading Hospital for treatment where his condition is told out of danger. In July alone a dozen policemen have been killed in terrorists in troubled city.
