LAHORE- Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leader, Shah Mehmood Qureshi today wondered as to what guarantees Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari is seeking from Washington.
He said this in reaction to a statement of PPP leader Shehla Raza in which, according to a section of media, she went on record to say that it had been agreed as part of National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) that no martial law would be imposed in the country till three elections. She was also reported to say that Asif Ali Zardari had gone to Washington to seek guarantees in regard to what was agreed as part of NRO.
Qureshi said his party would not become part of any deal which has anything to do with former president Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf, and called for an action against him under the law. He said the PPP should come up with an explanation of the statement of their party member.
On the issue of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), Qureshi said the Federal Minister for States and Frontier Regions, Abdul Qadir Baloch has admitted government failure. He denied any deadlock between PTI and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) leader Dr. Tahirul Qadri.
