ISLAMABAD  - The nation will celebrate Pakistan Day today with traditional zeal to commemorate the Lahore Resolution passed in 1940.
The day will dawn with 31 gun salutes in the federal and 21 gun salutes in the provincial capitals.

People will visit the mausoleums of the Founder of the Nation Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah in Karachi Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal in Lahore to pay homage and pray for their souls.
People leading different walks of life will also pay visits to their mausoleums to lay floral wreaths on the graves and offer fateha.

The day will also be celebrated by Pakistani embassies and high commissions abroad. Messages from the president and the prime minister will be read out in functions at diplomatic missions.
