LAKKI MARWAT: The Livestock Department on Thursday launched a vaccination drive in rural localities of the district after receiving reports about the outbreak of black quarter disease.
The drive was launched on the directives of District Director Livestock Dr Naseemullah Wazir who had received reports that livestock in Wanda Painda Khan, Wanda Seemo and other rural localities had symptoms of the disease. A special team headed by in-charge mobile veterinary health unit Dr Mubarak and consisting of livestock workers was dispatched to the villages to carry out vaccination of animals.
Dr Mubarak told this correspondent that a field day activity was conducted in the rural localities where the quadrupeds were vaccinated against black quarter disease. He asked the cattle keepers to take great care of their animals and protect them from diseases.
He said the livestock experts would ensure their presence at offices, health facilities and field day activities to provide all sorts of assistance and help to animals' keepers.–Staff Reporter
