PAKPATTAN - The 15-day long annual Urs celebrations of famous Sufi saint, scholar and first Punjabi poet Hazrat Baba Fareed Uddin Masood Ganj-e-Shakar (RA) started here on Tuesday. Sajjada Nasheen Dewan Maudood Masood Chishti performed the inauguration wherein he prayed for the development and prosperity of the country. Thousands of devotees from different parts of the country and abroad have started reaching Pakpattan to attend the Urs celebrations. Sahiwal Commissioner Qazi Muhammad Ashfaq have asked the district administration and the police authorities to complete all the arrangements for (devotees) and make foolproof security arrangements. He also chaired a meeting in the committee room of the Pakpattan DCO. On the occasion, Sahiwal RPO Khaliq Dad Luck, Pakpattan DCO Syed Haider Iqbal, DPO Jehanzaib Nazeer, local MPAs and representatives of different religious sects were also present. Later, the Commissioner along with RPO and other officers checked the route and other security measures.
