PESHAWAR - Awami National Party (ANP) leader and MNA Ghulam Ahmad Bilour visited the church blast site, but skipped the scene after highly charged people chanted slogans against the government.
Bilour, who himself is facing severe life threats, immediately reached the blast site to express his sympathies and solidarity with the mourning Christian community.
However, he had to return soon as the environment there was highly charged, while some enraged persons started slogans against the government.
Meanwhile, the Christian community staged a protest demonstration, burnt tyres and blocked roads at Kohati Gate to vent their anger against the two blasts in the area. They chanted slogans against the government.
The protesters alleged that government has failed to protect minorities if there had been appropriate security, this incident might have not occurred. Children and women have also been killed in these blasts for no reason, they said adding they wanted protection from the government.
Monitoring Desk adds: According to private TV channels, the relatives of the victims of the twin suicide blasts at the Peshawar church were furious as no government minister of the PTI government in KPK visited the blast site or any of the injured at Lady Reading Hospital.
