A callous man gunned down four members of his in-laws family and later committed suicide by shooting himself over a domestic dispute in village 49/NB in the remit of Cantt Police on Sunday.
According to the police, Nosheen Shamas, wife of Zeeshan alias Shani, a resident of Wah Cantt, had left her house after developing some differences with his husband and settled in her parents house. He made several attempts to bring his wife back by sending elders to his in-laws but to no avail.
On Sunday Shani himself went to his in-laws to reconcile and bring back his estranged wife. There he demanded his wife to go with him but she refused. The debate prolonged among them which infuriated the accused. He opened indiscriminate firing at all persons present on the occasion. Resultantly his wife Nosheen Shamas, her brother Zainul Hassan, her father Shamasul Hassan and her mother Shabana died on the spot. Later, the killer himself committed suicide by shooting himself while his sister-in-law was shifted to DHQ Hospital in critical condition. On information, the police authorities along with heavy contingent reached the spot and shifted the dead bodies to hospital for autopsy. Meanwhile, relatives of the slain family told that the killer Shani belonged to Wah Cantt and he had often quarrelled with his wife.  They also alleged that he was drug addict.
