PESHAWAR/KARACHI - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Parvez Khattak, while condemning the Peshawar church blasts, has announced a special compensation package for the blast victims.
While talking to media during his visit to the Lady Reading Hospital here on after the blast incidents on Sunday, the chief minister also announced three-day mourning in the province and expressed his heartfelt condolences for victim families. He said that at the time of the blast the provincial leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf was attending its central executive committee meeting, however, soon after receiving the information they rushed to the blast site.
On this occasion, the PTI leadership also met with the Christian leaders and assured them the government support and compensation.
Sindh Minister for Information Sharjeel Inam Memon has said that Sindh Government has decided to give Rs 5 lakh to the bereaved family of each victim who died in the Peshawar blast. This he said in a statement issued in Karachi on Sunday.
He said that the Christian community should not feel themselves alone.
Sindh government and PPP were with them, he said.
Security for the churches has been beefed up all over the Sindh province and instructions have been issued in this regard, he added.
