DERA ISMAIL KHAN - A lawmaker from Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s Jamiat Ulama-e-Islam (JUI-F) was sentenced on Monday after being found guilty in a fake degree case.Kishor Kumar was elected member of Khyber Pk Assembly in 2008 on a minority seat through a JUI-F ticket.During Elections Commission of Pakistan’s scrutiny into lawmakers’ academic record, he was found submitting a fake degree for his election as MPA.On Monday, Kumar was brought before a session court judge in Dera Ismail Khan for the hearing of the case. After the proceedings, the judge sentenced him to one-year in jail and also imposed a fine of Rs 5,000.Sources say the JUI-F lawmaker intends to challenge the decision in the Peshawar High Court.
