FEROZEWALA - The PTI led a rally on Friday against low gas pressure and hours long electricity loadshedding.
People from various walks of life participated in the rally, which started from Yadgar Chowk and culminated at the local press club.
Speaking on the occasion, PTI leader Shahnawaz slammed the government for its failure to address public problems, saying that the people had been making a litany of complaints to the authorities but they were dragging their feet over the matter.
The domestic and commercial consumers are being deprived of their basic needs such as power and electricity, he said.
Secretary General Anees Riasat said that if the situation was not improved, the PTI would stage sit-in, in front of President’s House in Islamabad. Secretary Information Waqas Afzal said that customers would not pay their utility bills unless the full supply of gas and electricity.
Meanwhile, the residents of Bhekhi and adjoining areas suspended traffic on Faisalabad for four hours against the 20-hour electricity and gas loadshedding. The protesters pelted stones on the Wapda office and forced the staffers to run away.
The protesters warned if supply of electricity and gas was not restored within 12 hours, the Wapda main office would be besieged on Saturday (today).
