KARACHI Punjab Governor Sardar Latif Ahmed Khosa on Sunday underlined the need of unity for change in system, adding that vindictive politics should be ended to strengthen the nation. Talking to media at MQM headquarters Nine-Zero along with MQM Rabita Committee Deputy Convenor Dr Farooq Sattar, after holding the meeting with MQM Rabita Committee office-bearers at MQM headquarter, Latif Khosa said that the government was curtailing the non-development expenditure of the federal government by more than Rs 1 billion and also cut the size in the federal cabinet as per the demands of MQM Quaid Altaf Hussain. MQM Deputy Parliamentary leader in National Assembly Haider Abbas Rizvi, Provincial Minister Sardar Ahmed, Shoaib Ahmed Bukhari, Senator Babar Ghori, Dr Sagheer Ahmed, Yousuf Shehwani and others were present on the occasion. Sindh Senior Minister Pir Mazharul Haq and Sindh Law Minister Ayaz Soomro accompanied the Governor Pujab. The Governor Punjab said that he had brought the message of love from Punjab and said that We have asked Altaf Hussain to keep on guiding us in future as well, Khosa added. He said that Benazir Bhutto gave her life to uphold democracy in the country, saying that the sovereignty and stability of the country hinged upon the following of the sayings of Quaid-e-Azams unity, faith and discipline. He said that Karachi was the economical hub of Pakistan and underlined the need to maintain the law and order situation of Karachi to strengthen the economy of the country. On the occasion, MQM leader Farooq Sattar said that Governor Punjab appreciated the organisational work and popularity of the MQM in Punjab province. He said that the governor assured the MQM office bearers that he would resolve the problems of MQM in Punjab. He said that Pakistan is facing the challenges of extremism and terrorism saying that the unity and contact among the moderate and progressive forces are the need of hour to combat these challenges. Earlier, In a telephonic conversation with Governor Punjab Sardar Latif Khosa via telephone from London, MQM Chief Altaf Hussain urged all the patriotic forces of the country to perform the responsibilities to make independent and free policies of Pakistan. Altaf said that MQM wanted to bring out the country from present financial crunch and free the country from foreign aids and loans. He said that we wanted the self-determination of the country and said that people are ready to suffer the strict economical policies but rulers should curtail their 90 percent expense. Altaf welcomed the Governor Punjab at his residence Nine-Zero and hoped that he will use his influence in Punjab to control the criminal activities, kidnapping incidents, crimes against women and other criminal activities. He said that MQM would support the efforts of Governor Punjab to bring the Sindh and Punjab closer with each other. He underlined the need of serious efforts to provide the relief to common people, who were suffering the problems of price-hike and unemployment. Altaf said that there is no person in Punjab to listen the problems of oppressed people and hoped that the doors of Governor Punjab will remain opened for the common men. He applauded the steps taken by the President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani to cut the non-development expenses of the government. Meanwhile, Governor Punjab Sardar Latif Khosa met the Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah at CM House Sindh. Qaim Ali Shah welcomed the Governor Punjab Latif Khosa on his first visit of Sindh after taking the responsibility of Governor Punjab. Both leaders were briefly discussed the political situation of the country.
