According to the commercial division officer of PR Karachi division Kamran Saeed, the Thar Expresss schedule was cancelled for a day due to damage of the track in India. Upon the request of India Railway, Thar Express is cancelled on July 23 and will depart on its scheduled time on July 24. Usually torrential rains affected the tracks in India and Pakistans desert areas including Indias Rajasthan and Pakistans Khokhrapar and others which resulted in delay of trains. The Thar Express which crossed Hyderabad, Mirpu-rkhas and Khokhrapar towns in Sindh province after starting from Karachi on Fridays night, reached India one hour behind the schedule on Saturday afternoon. The revival of the rail link was set to reunite divided families across the borders besides giving a fillip to the friendly relations emerging between the two countries.
