SHEIKHUPURA - Following the directions of Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif, the district administration has set up 13 Ramazan bazaars to provide maximum relief to the people.
District Coordination Officer (DCO) Asad Rehman along with other officers visited Ramazan bazaars and inspected the quality of grocery items, vegetables and fruits at various stalls. On the occasion, he directed the shopkeepers to display rate list and avoid overcharging otherwise stern action would be taken against them.
Meanwhile, a survey revealed that the prices of different items including fruits, meat and dates have witnessed an unprecedented hike in the open markets.
The consumers complained that the government had left them at mercy of profiteers who were charging high prices without any fear and regard for the laws concerned.
