Casualties result from group clashes, Gul Bahadur assures timeline of attacks

PESHAWAR- Twelve militants of Taliban Commander Khan Syed alias Sajna and TTP Commander Sheheryar group have been killed in two days worth of clashes in the Shawal area of South Waziristan Agency.

Sources said that eight militants of the Sajna group and four from the Sheheryar group were killed in clashes that erupted on Sunday whilst four others sustained injuries.

Nek Mohammad Fida, spokesman for a jirga headed by Haji Sher Mohammad, informed that the jirga members held a meeting with the North Waziristan Taliban Commander Hafiz Gul Bahadur at an undisclosed location, where the latter assured the members that his fighters would not attack security forces till mid-August. Bahadur also stated they will give the members a chance to settle the North Waziristan issue through talks with the government.

However, the TTP sources state that Bahadur used a wireless phone and ordered his troops to attack security forces in North Waziristan. A jirga member countered this by claiming these as rumors.
