OUR STAFF REPORTER SIALKOT - The district police officer on Sunday suspended all the officials of CIA Sialkot police - three sub-inspectors, two ASIs and seven constables - for allegedly torturing a youth to death on Friday here. Talking to the newsmen, DPO Bilal Sadiq Kamiyana said that a departmental probe had also been ordered against the suspended police officials including SI Nisar Khan and Constable Tahir Mehmood, who were nominated in the FIR lodged with the Hajipura police station. The DPO revealed that the suspension of the accused police officials was made after taking a notice of the alleged brutal assassination and custodial killing of Muhammad Rizwan (23) through physical torture by the CIA police Sialkot. He also assured the grieved family of early arrest of the accused police officials, besides pledging justice in the case. Earlier, talking to the newsmen here, the slain youths father Muhammad Iqbal said, Though the police have registered a murder case against CIA Sialkot police SI Nisar Khan and Constable Tahir Mehmood, yet the police were threatening them of dire consequences and forcing them for a patch-up with the police. He said that the police were reluctant to arrest the accused. On Friday, the CIA Sialkot had Muhammad Rizwan from his house in New Mianapura locality for his suspected involvement in a dacoity case. The CIA police officials allegedly brutally tortured the youth to death. However, the CIA officials claimed that Rizwan had committed suicide. The family strongly protested against the killing, urging the Punjab chief minister and other high-ups to take serious notice of this critical situation and ask the Hajipura police to ensure early arrest of the accused police officials and provide justice to the grieved family. On Friday, the CIA Sialkot had lifted the youth Muhammad Rizwan from his house in Sialkot citys congested New Mianapura locality for his suspect involvement in a dacoity case. The CIA police officials allegedly brutally tortured the youth there at CIA Sialkot due to which he died there in Friday evening. CIA officials had claimed that the youth Rizwan had committed suicide there at CIA Sialkot, as he was not died of torture. While, his grieved family had strongly protested against this brutal and custodial killing of the youth by the police through torture. The heirs have urged the Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Inspector General of Police Punjab, regional Police Officer (RPO) Gujranwala Region Ahmed Mubarak Ahmed and Sialkot DPO Bilal Sadiq Kamiyana to take serious notice of this critical situation and ask the Hajipura police to ensure the early arrest of the accused police officials and provide justice to the grieved family, in this regard.
