Govt should take Parliament into confidence, says Nawaz

OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE PML-N President Nawaz Sharif has said his party has a clear stance that the government should take the parliament, leaders of the political parties and the people of Pakistan into confidence regarding American threats and other important issues, which must be considered very seriously. He was talking to the media men at Mayo Hospital on Friday where he had gone to enquire after the health of the dengue patients. He was accompanied by Senator Pervaiz Rasheed and MNA Hamza Shahbaz Sharif. The former premier was of the considered opinion that situation of the flood-hit Sindh was precarious, but the government had not taken the parliament into confidence even on this issue. He said if the government would have done the same on Karachi crisis, the Supreme Court would not have taken suo moto notice. The ISI and other law enforcement agencies have given mind-boggling details to the SC, he added. The rulers must have brought these details into the parliament but it had certain reservations. The selected committee could have been taken into confidence over the actual culprits of the Karachi carnage, he asserted, adding the nation wanted to know details of in-camera sessions. He advised the government to do something for the flood affectees and the unemployed youth instead of indulging in political allegations.
