OUR STAFF REPORTER SAHIWAL - The Sahiwal police on Wednesday claimed to have busted 11 gangs and arrested their 40 members allegedly involved in dacoity, robbery and other crimes. The police also recovered 20 motorcycles, 4 tractors, 5 bafalos, 19 gots, 19 cell phones and Rs2 million from their possession. Besides, illegal arms including 25 pistol 30 bore,4 guns 12 bore, 1 pump action and a large number of cartridges were recovered, Sahiwal DPO Rana Muhammad Ayyaz Saleem said during a press conference at the police lines. He said that panic was created among the masses because of increasing incidents of different crimes. He said that to control the crime rate, various teams headed by SDPOs and SHOs were constituted. After hectic efforts the police, the suspects of 11 inter-district and inter-provincial gang were arrested. Rana Ayyaz further said that first gang headed by Ghafoor Changer of Kamoki along with his other gangsters Ashraf, Anwer and Arif..4 tracters and other goods were recovered from their possession . The second gang headed by Dr Yaseen along with his 9 companions was arrested by Dera Rheem Police. The third gang headed by Yaseen Jandaran was also arrested by Dera Raheem police along with his 6 companions and while, the fourth gang headed by Rana Aftab and his 6 members was arrested by Harrapa Police .This gang confessed to stealing 40 cars which they use to sell these cars to Pakhtoon in a K.P province. The police also recovered goods worth Rs0.8 million. The fifth gang headed by Faizan and the sixth was led by by Afzal Masih were also arrested and a large number of goods were recovered from them, The seventh gang headed by Aftab along with his 3 companions was arrested by Ghala Mandi police and the eighth gang headed by Ghulam Murtaza along with his 5 companions was busted by Yousafwala police ,while the ninth and tenth gangs were busted by Harppa and Shahkot police and recovered 22 tolas of gold ornament, 5 motorcycles and households worth Rs 1 million was recovered from them. Moreover, the 10th and 11th gangs 5 members were arrested by Chihatwani police and domestic goods worth Rs 1 lakh was recovered. The DPO further said that a blind murder case of Chak 57/4r of the Noorshah police was also traced during the drive.
