Police reveal what ‘murderer' concealed

GUJRANWALA - The death of an 11-year-old boy, who was proclaimed to have committed suicide, turned out to be a cold blooded murder during investigation by the police here in People's Colony on Monday.
Reportedly, a boy identified as Naveed, a resident of chak Hindah, worked at the house of a trader namely Yousaf here in People's Colony. On Monday, Yousaf called father of the boy named Mahmood and claimed that Naveed had committed suicide. At which he along with other family members came to pick the body of his child.
Meanwhile, on a tip-off the police arrived at the house and smelt a rat after observing severe torture marks on the body of the boy. The police registered FIR 818 against Yousaf.
While talking to The Nation, Mahmood said that his son had been working in the house of Yousaf for the last six years. He said that due poverty he was compelled to employ his son with Yousaf. He expressed that nothing can heal his wounds or cure the pain but he needed justice.
Meanwhile, Ikram, a local, told The Nation that he had frequently observed 'screams' of a child coming from the house of Yousaf, adding that today he heard the news that the child had committed suicide. He claimed that someone from the house had called the police 'apparently' to save their skin keeping in view the maltreatment they meted out to the child. He said that the police during preliminary investigation found torture marks on the child's body and booked Yousaf to ferret out the facts.
When contacted Investigation Officer Nawazish told that the police initially found severe torture marks and signs on the child body. Even the rope with whom the boy said to have allegedly committed suicide was not even tied properly to uphold the weight of the body," he pointed out.
He said that FIR was registered and investigate was under way as murder of an innocent child cannot be tolerated.
