MQM team meets Qadri, discusses alliance

LAHORE – A delegation of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) called on Tehrik-e-Minhaj-ul-Quran chief Dr Tahirul Qadri on Sunday and discussed with him the prevailing political situation and possible alliance in the forthcoming general elections.
Senator Nasreen Jalil, Raza Haroon and Saif Yar Khan discussed with Qadri various issues and a possible alliance with Pakistan Awami Tehrik in the Punjab. The delegation conveyed a message of Altaf Hussain to Qadri.
Both the sides had consensus on implementation of articles 62 and 63 in the coming elections. They decided to make joint efforts against corruption and ensure rule of law in the country.
Dr Tahirul Qadri said that without electoral reforms, elections would be unconstitutional and unacceptable to the masses.
“I will announce the future strategy on 17th or 18th of March, which will be in line with the aspirations of the masses,” he said.
