NEW YORK  – The United Nations say that it has launched investigation into the Indian attack on Pakistan check post on January 6 at the Line of Control (LoC). Andre Michel, UN spokesman for peace mission and Field Support Department, told this to the BBC Urdu Service. He stated that the investigations had been initiated on January 20. A Pakistani soldier was martyred and one was injured during Indian army offensive on Pakistan check post on January 6. Pakistan had formally demanded of UN Observer's Mission to probe into the incident. The UN spokesman said the investigation process was to be started from January 14 but it was postponed due to weather. The severe snowfall spell had made it impossible for the mission members to access that area.  The recent escalation on LoC took start on January 6 whenIndian forces had attacked Swan Patra check post located near Bagh in Haji Pir Sector in which one soldier was killed and another was injured.
