In Azad Jammu & Kashmir, the female students are atop in the overall annual matriculation examinations (year-3013), as per the results announced by the AJK Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education on Wednesday.
All the first three positions-holding girls students belong to the private-sector Kashmir Model College Mirpur. Among the first top 37 positions in the overall examination, the students of Kashmir Model College won 21 positions with different distinctions.
“A total of 37,044 candidates out of a total of 60,267 have passed the annual Secondary School Certificate examination held under the auspices of Azad Jammu Kashmir Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education Mirpur,” declared Prof Muhammad Afzal Mirza, Chairman of AJK BISE.
“The overall results of the annual matriculation composite examination – 2013 remained 62.37 percent, he added while unveiling the names of the successful candidates securing first 20 positions in the examination at a special ceremony held at the BISE complex. Heads and representatives of various private and public sector schools from different parts of AJK were also present.
Mirza announced the names of the students capturing first three top positions in the examination. Secretary AJK BISE Prof. Muhammad Zaheer Chaudhry on this occasion highlighted salient features of the examination system introduced by the AJK BISE in Azad Jammu & Kashmir. Research Officer BISE Tassawar Hussain Sulehriya, Estate Officer Khawaja Zaffar Iqbal, Controller Examination (Schools), Abdul Kareem Chaudhry Controller Examination (Colleges) Sardar Muhammad Razaq and other senior officials of the Board were also present.
Controller Examination (Schools) Abdul Kareeem Chaudhry continued that those passed the annual examination included 29,760 regular and 7,284 private candidates. He said that a total of 60,267 candidates appeared in the examination of which a total of 37,044 candidates passed the examination. Thus, the overall result of the entire Board remained 62.37 percent. Whereas the overall result of regular candidates remained 77.31 percent and the overall result of private candidates remained 34.80 percent, he added.
The controller said that those appeared in the examination include 38,493 regular and 20,898 private candidates appeared in the exams. Unveiling the names of the first top three positions-holding students in the overall examination, Chairman AJK BISE Prof Muhammad Afzal Mirza declared that Ms Sana Asif (Roll No. 102008) of Kashmir Model College Mirpur secured first position in entire board in the examination by bagging 1021 marks out of total of 1050 marks.
Similarly Ms Tehreem Akhtar d/o Muhammad Akhtar (Roll No. 102026) of Kashmir Model College secured second position by obtaining 1018 marks and Ms. Moniba Arshad d/o Arshad Mahmood (Roll No. 102015) and Ms. Syeda Taleha Shah d/o Syed Qaiser Sheraz Ahmed Shah Kazmi of the Kashmir Model College Mirpur) secured third position in the entire board by equally obtaining 1017 marks out of a total of 1050 marks. All these first three top positions holding girls students in the entire Board belonged to the Science group.
Among the first three top positions holding boys students Ali Zain ul Abedeen s/o Imtiaz Ali (Roll No. 103020) of Kashmir Model College Mirpur, clinched first position securing 1013 marrks, Muhammad Mehtab s/o Muhammad Fazal (Roll No. 127528) of Jammu Kashmir Public Secondary School Dhangroat, Kotli secured second position by obtaining 1010 marks and Asad Frooq s/o Muhammad Farooq (Role No. 124215) of Insight Model College Bhimber secured third position with 1008 marks. All these first three positions holding students also belong to the science group. The entire result will also be available on the web-site of AJK BISE - http://www.ajkbise.net on Thursday. Besides the results could also be obtained through SMS from all net works. Speakers congratulated the successful students especially those who secured various distinctions in the examination with excellent marks.
