12 die in clashes between rival militants

PESHAWAR - At least twelve militants have been killed in the armed clashed between Taliban Commander Khan Syed alias Sajna and TTP Commander Sheheryar groups in Shawal area of South Waziristan Agency.  Sources said that eight militants of Sajna group and four
militants of Sheheryar group were killed in the clashes erupted on
Sunday, adding that four others sustained injuries.
Nek Mohammad Fida, spokesman for a jirga headed by Haji Sher Mohammad, told this news agency that the jirga members held a meeting with North Waziristan Taliban Commander Hafiz Gul Bahadur at an undisclosed location wherein Hafiz Gul Bahadur assured the jirga members that his fighters would not attack security forces till mid August, giving chance to jirga members to settle North Waziristan problem through talks with the government.
However, the TTP sources told that North Waziristan Commander Hafiz Gul Bahadur via wireless phone, which militants are using normally for communication, asked the North Waziristan Taliban to attack security forces, while a jirga member on condition of anonymity said that these were only rumours.
