Army, police team up to foil terror bids

At least two activists of a banned organisation were arrested by security agencies during a joint operation by Army and the police in Qasim Bela area on Monday night. Sources said that an arms and two drug dealers were also caught during the operation. Sources said that the law enforcement agencies also launched an operation in suburbs of Taunsa while joint checking was initiated at Sakhi Sarwar checkpost. Similarly, the security of Chinese engineers working on different projects in Dera Ghazi Khan has also been beefed up.
The security has already been beefed up in entire South Punjab region as police set up pickets at the entry and exit points of all districts while army troops were also deployed in Multan and Dera Ghazi Khan divisions to foil any terrorism bid in reaction to operation Zard-e-Azb. Similarly, a joint operation and coordination centre headed by Major General Hasnat Amir has also been set up and the representatives of all other forces including police and secret agencies as well as district administration are made part of this initiative.
INDUSTRIAL MAGAZINE: Punjab Small Industries Corporation is going to publish an industrial magazine of international standards to provide up to date knowledge and data to industrialists.
The magazine’s first issue would be available within next two months, PSIC Multan deputy director Ammara Manzoor.
The magazine would be carrying information on industrial sector, modern trends, art and crafts and introduction of novel products of craftsmen. It would also be carrying information on how to get loans for different small industrial units, feasibility reports, interviews of successful businessmen and industrialists, and information of areas considered backward with proposals to establish industry there and the incentives offered by the government for the purpose.
