RAWALPINDI- The license holder handcart pushers have expressed concerns over ban on their business in Saddar bazaar area imposed by Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB). The handcart pushers said that earlier, RCB Executive Officer Fahim Zafar had said that the board will provide decorated handcarts to the vendors and they will have to bear the cost. They said that an agreement has also been reached between the two parties but now the CEO has not only cancelled the agreement but also banned handcarts in Saddar bazaar area. The small vendors said that they earn livelihood by selling items of daily use on handcarts as they cannot afford to take shops on rent. They added that they had been doing the business since long and even got licenses from the cantonment board but now the board was depriving them of their only source of income. They appealed to the RCB executive officer to review the decision of banning handcarts in Saddar Bazaar area and allow them to continue their business.
