Woman among three killed in US drone strike

PESHAWAR – At least three people including a woman were killed when a US drone targeted a house in North Waziristan Agency on Wednesday.
The pilotless predator fired at least two missiles on a house at Tapai village in Mir Ali area of North Waziristan Agency. The house was destroyed completely, while at least three suspected militants in the house were reportedly killed in the attack.  One of the men killed in the attack is said to be a foreigner but his identity could not be confirmed.
Officials have confirmed the attack and casualties, saying the drone fired two missiles at the target at 2:45pm.
After the attack, panic gripped the villagers. It was the 25th US drone strike this year, while 255 attacks have been carried out in Federally Administered Tribal Areas since 2004 in which hundreds of people had been killed and many more maimed.
According to CNN, three people - including one woman – were killed in the drone strike. The latest suspected US drone strike also injured two children, military officers said.
Militants lived in the compound, but so did civilians, the officers said.
There's growing fury over the US pounding of area. A recent independent study said hundreds of civilians, including 176 children, have been killed in the attacks over the last eight years.
