Nine new engines join Railways

KARACHI- Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafiq expressed the determination that performance of the department would be improved in the near future. He was addressing a ceremony of introducing nine new engines imported from China in Pakistan Railways today. It is the first induction of new engines in Railways in 13 years. The Minister said Pakistan Railways need four hundred more engines to revamp the department.
China will provide fifty eight engines by the end of this year and another consignment of twenty three engines will reach Pakistan shortly.
