Levis Force seized a huge cache of weapons in Mastung area of Balochistan which was being smuggled in a pick-up on Wednesday reportedly to Karachi, the local administration said.
Talking to media, the Deputy Commissioner Mastung Mehrab Shah said that acting on a tip-off, Levis Force started searching the vehicles on a check-post in Kardgap area of district Mastung.
In the meanwhile, suspects abandoned a pick-up vehicle laden with arms and ammunition and fled to the nearby mountains. The arms were reportedly being smuggled to Karachi, he said and added that as many as 62 Kalashnikovs, 2 binoculars, 30 pistols, 2 licences and other arms were recovered from the vehicle probably being taken to be used in subversive activities.
He said the pick-up vehicle was under the custody of the Levis and a search for the suspects was underway.
