PESHAWAR - Iranian Consulate has been temporary closed here after the suicide attack on a check-post outside the consulate in which three Frontier Constabulary personnel were killed and nine others wounded.
According to sources, the consulate has been temporary closed in wake of security fears.
Meanwhile, the 3 FC soldiers martyred in the attack were laid to rest with full military honours. The security of other diplomats in the city has also been tightened and additional security has been deployed outside US, Afghanistan and Iranian consulates.
On the other hand, police recovered a hand-grenade near Iranian consulate her, a day after suicide attack outside the same building left three security personnel dead the other day.
Officials said a patrolling police party found the hand-grenade on railway tracks along Iranian consulate. The bomb disposal squad was called to check and diffuse the bomb.
Monday's attack was claimed by Taliban-affiliated Mast Gul group.
Police said a teenaged suicide bomber walked up to the check-post outside the Iranian mission after parking his car nearby. He then blew himself up after being stopped by security men.
