LAKKI MARWAT - The district livestock department launched vaccination drive after foot and mouth disease spread in Lakki city and adjacent rural localities.
The disease affected a number of quadrupeds in the urban and rural areas and increased the concerns of cattle keepers. Cattle keepers from Lakki city and villagers were seen visiting the veterinary health facility in Lakki city along with their affected animals. Mobile veterinary health unit in charge Dr Mubarak said that animals hit by foot and mouth disease had been brought to the facility for treatment. "The disease is serious for animals' health besides it can also affect the livestock sector by proving fatal for young animals," he told.
