Salary commensurate with hike demanded

HAFIZABAD - The office-bears of All-Pakistan National Programme for Health Association (APNPHA) have called on the government to increase the salaries of Lady Health workers and Supervisors keeping in view the soaring prices of daily-use items and the hectic nature of their duties.
They were speaking at the convention of Lady Health workers and Supervisions held here the other day.
Office-bears of National Programme of Health from Lahore, Narowal, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Daska, Sheikhupura, Lala Musa, Kharian, Jhelum, Kasur, Gujar Khan, Wazirabad, Gojra, Sargodha and other places assembled at Jinnah Hall here.
APNPHA Central leaders including Waseem Ullah Saleem Aasi, Ubaidullah Warraich, Amina Abbas, Muhammad Tariq, Hafiz Muhammad Mohsin, Abida Usman, Fareeda Kanwal, Ishrat Jameel and others said that LHWs and Supervisors were visiting every house to perform their duties but their salaries were inadequate. They thanked the Chief Justice of Pakistan for ordering regularisation their services. They said that both the Federal and Provincial governments were keen to promoting the National Programme for health but some bureaucrats were unnecessarily criticising their functioning.
The speakers warned such bureaucrats to desist from such tactics to harass them. They demanded that their salaries be increased in order to enable them to perform their duties more efficiently.
