The alleged killer identified as Muhammad Ali exchanged harsh words with his brother Shahab Ali and shot him dead. His mother and other members of the family tried to stop him from killing his brother but the accused also shot dead his mother, grandmother, two sisters and a minor nephew while inuring his sister-in-law.
Following the incident, the police reached the spot and arrested the accused and recovered the arm used in the crime. The incident occurred in the limits of Azakhel Police Station.

However, the injured sister-in-law disclosed the facts during her statement to the police at the hospital that her brother-in-law Muhammad Ali committed the murders. Father of the accused Taj Ali Shah, a driver told the police that he was on duty when his son informed him that militants attacked their house in which six members, including mother Nargis Bibi, grandmother Ranra Bibi, two sisters Saifa and Rabiya, brother Shahab Ali and two-year-old nephew Mahad Ali were killed while his sister-in-law Sakeena Bibi was injured.
The accused was produced in a local court where he recorded his statement and confessed committing the crime. He said that he is in love with a neighbouring girl. He sent his parents to her home with proposal many times but they refused which disheartened him.
He said that his brother Shahab Ali just argued with him on the issue, which infuriated him and then shot his brother. “I also killed other members of the family. I regret to have committed an unforgivable crime,” he added.
