Democracy taking roots in country: PM

London- Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has said, continuity of democratic system has enhanced Pakistan's stature in the community of nations.

Talking to journalists on his arrival in London after attending international Nuclear Security Summit in The Hague, he said democracy is taking roots in the country. The Prime Minister said economic indicators are getting better day by day and the overall economic situation has improved since his party came into power. Nawaz Sharif said, foreign investment has started coming in and Pakistan's rupee is gaining strength against dollar. He hoped that the load-shedding issue would gradually be resolved.The Prime Minister said, some twenty one thousand megawatt electricity would be added to the national grid during the next seven to eight years. Muhammad Nawaz Sharif said, the government has initiated a dialogue process with Taliban to bring lasting peace and economic stability in the country. He hoped the peace talks would bear fruits soon as there are sign of progress.
