ISLAMABAD(INP) - Prime Minister YousufRazaGilani has asked President Asif Ali Zardari to confer Nishan-e-Haider on Lieutenant Yasir Abbas, who was martyred in PNS Mehran attack. According to sources, the prime minister has sent a summary to the president, asking him to confer Nishan-e-Haider, the highest military award, on Lt Yasir Abbas in recognition of his bravery he demonstrated by sacrificing his life in line of his duty. Lt Yasirwould be the first Pakistan Navy officer to get this award posthumously. So far 10 martyrs have been given this award, who are: Captain Muhammad Sarwar, Major Tufail Muhammad, Major Raja Aziz Bhatti, Pilot Officer Rashid Minhas, Sawar Muhammad Hussain, Major Muhammad Akram, Lance Naik Muhammad Mehfooz, Major Shabbir Sharif, Captain Sher Khan and Lalak Jan.
