TOBA TEK SINGH/ MULTAN - Scores of political activists from all parties including the PPP participated in the funeral in absentia for late Begum Nusrat Bhutto here at Committee Bagh on Tuesday. Prominent among them were former PPP central leader Ghiasuddin Janbaz, MPA Begum Neelam Jabbars husband Amer Jabbar, PPP City General Secretary Rana Khalid Mahmood, District Vice President Safdar Nasir Chohan, District Ch Saeed Akhtar, PPP Gojra leader Dr Sershar Cheema, Kamalia leaders - Farooq Semab and Ch Zahoorul Haq and party Pirmahal secretary Muhammad Akram. The funeral in absentia was also offered by the party workers in Kamalia. MULTAN: The funeral in absentia for Mohtarma Nusrat Bhutto, mother of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto, was held here at MCC Ground on Tuesday. A large number of PPP leaders, workers and common citizens joined the prayer. A big delegation of PML-N led by senior vice president Makhdoom Javed Hashmi represented their party during the funeral. The participants prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and heaven. They also paid glowing tribute to her and said that she proved an iron lady, who rendered historic sacrifices for the sake of democracy in the country. NOORPUR THAL: Hundreds of the PPP workers attended the Ghaibana Namaz-e-Janaaza (absentia funeral) for Begum Nusrat Bhutto held here on Tuesday. They paid rich tribute to late Begum Nusrat Bhutto and prayed that the departed soul may rest in heaven and the grieved family may bear this loss with fortitude. On the occasion, talking to the media men, PPP Tehsil President Malik Sadiq Parhar and City President Malik Ejaz Hussain Chandram expressed their sorrow over the sad demise of Nusrat Bhutto and paid tribute to her for struggle against dictatorship, saying that her death was a great loss to the PPP. The others who expressed their grief and offered condolences included PPP city vice president Dr Akhtar HussainTaheem, local leaders of PPP Syed Ghazanfar Ali Shah, Rana Muhammad Ashraf, Fayyaz Hussain Khokhar and Gul Muhammad Chohan. They said that Nusrat Bhuttos contribution to politics in Pakistan would always be remembered.
