21 killed in NWA rival groups' clashes

PESHAWAR - Six people were killed and 13 injured in fierce clashes between two rival tribes over a land dispute in North Waziristan Agency on Saturday.
The two rival tribes Madakhel and Kabulkhel in Lawara Mandi area in Dattakhel tehsil of North Waziristan Agency have been fighting for a long over the ownership of land and mountains.
With both parties using rockets and sophisticated arms against each other, the fresh clashes erupted between the two rival tribes on Thursday last in Lawara Mandi area which is situated near Pakistan-Afghanistan border.
During Saturday clashes, at least six people were killed and 13 sustained injuries, sources said adding, a Jirga of tribesmen was trying to negotiate a ceasefire between the two tribes.
The sources said that at least 21 people have been killed so far from both sides and many more injured. Besides, tension has gripped the area due to which the local residents are migrating to other safer places.
They also feared more deaths in the clashes. The area where the fighting is on is under TTP control.
