Pakistan-China working together on economic front

ISLAMABAD- Chinese ambassador Sun Weidong called on finance minister Senator Ishaq Dar, in Islamabad today, to discuss economic cooperation between the two countries and the forthcoming visit of Chinese President to Pakistan.

The ambassador said they are happy to see Pakistan-China economic corridor moving ahead smoothly. He mentioned that the third round of Pakistan-China Joint Cooperation Committee (JCC) was continuing successfully. He said China will continue to take this relationship to a new height.

He appreciated Pakistan's support for Asia Infrastructure Development Bank. He underlined that the forthcoming visit of Chinese president to Pakistan next month would open new avenues for cooperation between the two countries. China will assist Pakistan in 14 energy projects and four mega infrastructure projects including Karakorum Highway Phase-II, development of Gwadar Port, Lahore-Karachi Motorway and Orange Line metro project in Lahore, he added.


Ishaq Dar said the energy and infrastructure projects will contribute to economic progress of Pakistan.
