Rs6.18b disbursed through Pakistan Cards: Nadra

ISLAMABAD - The National Database & Registration Authority (Nadra) has so far disbursed Rs 6.18 billion through 749,779 Pakistan Cards, Smart Cash Cards, to the heads of the rain-affected families in Sindh as part of the flood relief assistance, revealed the official data of the authority on Saturday. The Nadra has issued as many as 129,784 Pakistan Cards to the heads of families in Mirpurkhas, 243,824 in Badin, 80,844 in Tando Mohammad Khan and 183,689 in Shaheed Benazirabad (Nawabshah), 48,038 in Tando Allahyar, 61,732 in Sanghar and 1,868 cash cards have been issued in Umerkot. The authority has asked the Sindh government to take necessary measures to maintain law and order at Nadra centers set up for the issuance of Pakistan Cards to the rain-affected citizens in the province and cautiously endorse the right person for the cash facility after complete verification, Deputy Chairman NADRA Tariq Malik said Saturday. He warned the culprits not to exploit the vulnerability of rain victims with meager offers to process their cards, as severe actions will be taken against them while the centers are collecting details about such element and an action in this regard will be taken soon. He added that 72 centres of NADRA are issuing Pakistan Cards in seven districts including Badin, Tando Mohammad Khan, Shaheed Benazirabad, Mirpurkhas, Tando Allahyar, Sanghar and Umerkot whereas other 26 centres, on completing their task, were now addressing the complaints from genuine beneficiaries, who were unable to get registration for the facility.
