QUETTA - A court issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Jamhoori Watan Party leader Shahzain Bugti and his 27 security guards over illegal weapons’ possession on Friday.Shahzain Bugti, the grandson of slain Nawab Akbar Bugti, and his 27 guards were arrested on December 22, 2010, when the Frontier Corps (FC) recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition from his convoy near Balali checkpoint in Quetta. However, they were released after the Balochistan High Court accepted their bail.On April 3, a Supreme Court bench, headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, set aside the BHC orders.The Additional District and Sessions Judge-V heard the case filed against Shahzain Bugti and others. The accused did not appear before the court therefore the warrants were issued. The court also served notice on the guarantors.Meanwhile, four suspected militants were killed and another seven nicked in a Frontier Corps predawn raid in Kech district near Turbat on Friday.According to Levies Force, the FC personnel raided a militant hideout in Gaibon area, some 25-km away from Turbat.Militants took positions inside a school building and fired shots at the raiding team,” sources said, adding that the gunfight lasted several hours.When contacted, an FC spokesman confirmed the incident, saying security men also seized arms and ammunition. The security men tried to arrest the suspects during the operation but they attacked the personnel,” the FC spokesman said, adding the troops fought off, killing four suspects.The bodies were shifted to Civil Hospital where they were identified as Muhammad Ali, Muhammad Hassan, Aslam and Muhammad Adam.The incident sparked panic among the residents of Turbat, Mand and other towns of Kech district, shutting down markets, educational institutions and government offices.There are speculations that the dead could be the members of Baloch armed groups. However, no group claimed responsibility till filling of this report. The local administration registered a case and started investigation.
