Elders vow to extend assistance to admin, security forces

BAJAUR AGENCY - Elders of Utmankhail tribe of Bajaur Agency on Thursday have assured the administration and the security forces of continuing their full support for maintaining peace and writ of the government in their area.
They said that no one would be allowed to commit aggression in the border area of the region. This was announced during a jirga of the elders Utmankhail tribe, the second major tribe of the agency held here at the agency headquarter Khar.
Large number of elders of the different sub tribes, members of various peace committees and Ulema were participated the jirga.
Seniors officials of the administration and the security forces including Political Agent Syed Abdul Jabar Shah and commandant Bajaur scouts Col Shakeel Janjua were attended the jirga.
Notable prove government tribal elders including Malik Khista Gull, Malik Mohammad Akbar Khan, Malik Fida Mohammad, Malik Nadar Khan and others were addressed the jirga.
The elders said that the tribesmen of Utmankhail tribe were the most peace living citizen of the agency who had always rendered huge sacrifices for the restoration of peace and for the establishment of writ of the government in the region but the administration has ignored the problems and difficulties the people of the area.
“We were facing lot of problems and troubles due to the lack of basic needs and facilities and the government has totally ignored our hurdles,” they added.
They said that Utmankhial was the send large populated tribe of the region and majority of tribesmen living in the backward area but yet the government did not start any mega development project for the welfare of the people of the area.
The elder said that the tribesmen were badly disappointed of the administration and the government for ignoring its problems and not providing basic needs to them.
“The tribesmen of Utmankhial were also the citizens of the agency and the government should immediately bring all the basic facilities without discrimination,” they said. They said that tribesmen of Utmankhail tribe are committed to protecting the land from any aggression of the enemies of tribesmen and no one would be allowed to disrupt peace in their area.
The elders showed concern over the involvement of Dir Police and the Dir Scouts in their area and demanded of the administration and the forces to immediately stop the involvement of the Dir police and Dir scouts in their area.
Speaking on the occasion Political Agent Syed Abdul Jabar Shah said that the government is aware from the problems and hurdles of the people of Utmankhial tribe.
He said that the administration is very interested in the development of backwards area of the region and for this purpose the administration has allocated huge amount in the current annual development programme.
“The administration is committed to boost the life standard of every citizen of the region and all the development funds would be equally spend without any discrimination in the region,” he said.
